Rachel Hopkins

Rachel has been the CEO of CHIP of the Roanoke Valley since December of 2021. With over a decade of experience in the fields of strategy, leadership, creativity, and social change, Rachel empowers people and enables processes to create inclusive, engaged workplaces. Since moving to Roanoke, Rachel previously served as the Executive Director of the Science Museum of Western Virginia, as the Vice President of Development for Center in the Square and led the development of the popular Roanoke Pinball Museum. Before relocating to Roanoke in 2012, Rachel lived abroad for over a decade, both in Leipzig, Germany and Amsterdam, Netherlands.

LaTonya Bolden

LaTonya M. Bolden, MSW, LCSW, EMDR-Trained has been the Director of Mental Health Services since November 2017.  LaTonya completed her Bachelor of Social Work at Bennett College and began graduate work at Washington University in St. Louis- George Warren Brown School of Social Work, completing her Master of Social Work at Radford University. 

LaTonya is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with almost twenty (20) years of experience in mental health.  She has worked in various capacities including administration, clinical supervision, and direct service. LaTonya provides psychotherapy to adults and interactive psychotherapy (e.g., Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, etc.) to children and adolescents. LaTonya approaches working with individuals from a client-centered and attachment-focus/relational perspective. LaTonya’s passion for delivering quality mental health support is her foundation for providing relationally safe and nurturing space to individuals desiring to develop the courage to identify needs, build on strengths to address needs, and begin the process to rebuild the life they desire. 

LaTonya has created and presented staff and community trainings “It Certainly Cracks: The Inside-out Effects of Weathering,” “Can We Talk a Discussion of Suicide Prevention and Support,” “CHIP Caregivers Coping with COVID-19,” “For Professionals Coping with COVID-19,” and “Play is the best medicine: A training for Physicians. LaTonya is also co-creator of a mental health training, “Guess Who’s Coming to the Playroom: An Examination of Clinical Response to Race, Culture, and Intersectionality in the Playroom” for professional development to members of the National Association of Social Workers- Virginia Chapter and the Virginia Association of Play Therapy. 

In her leisure time, LaTonya enjoys reading, free-styling and car dancing with her teenage daughter during long rides home, watching documentaries, and good food.

Brittany Friedman

Brittany is the Nursing Supervisor at CHIP of the Roanoke Valley and has been with the organization since early 2022. Prior to joining CHIP, she passionately served the families of our area as a labor and delivery/postpartum nurse, as well as worked in the outpatient OBGYN clinic. Brittany is passionate about empowering men, women, and children to make choices that better themselves and their community.

Elizabeth Morley

Elizabeth Morley is the Family Case Manager Supervisor at CHIP of the Roanoke Valley.  Elizabeth has been with the organization since 2007 serving as a Family Case Manager prior to moving into a leadership role.  Elizabeth is passionate about supporting and educating children and their families.

Tiffany Dennis

 Tiffany is the Major Gifts Officer at CHIP of Roanoke Valley. She has a diverse career background, with roles in the non-profit, public service, and quality control sectors. Tiffany values adaptability and the strength of a professional network. Known for strategic thinking and empathy, she is dedicated to the sustainability and growth of CHIP’s programs and mission.
