How Enrollment Works
Enroll Today
CHIP of Roanoke Valley serves families with young children from birth to kindergarten, as well as pregnant women. To qualify for enrollment, you must meet the following criteria:
Residence
You must live in the Roanoke Valley or its surrounding areas.
Income
Child or family has Medicaid or is eligible for Medicaid, unless ineligible due to immigration status.
Children’s Age
Families with children from birth to kindergarten are eligible, and we also support expectant mothers.
Need for Services
CHIP provides services to families who may face challenges such as lack of access to healthcare, financial stress, or need for mental health support.

Our Family Case Managers work one-on-one with you to navigate healthcare, access services, and ensure your child has the resources they need to thrive.
From prenatal care to childhood immunizations, CHIP provides comprehensive healthcare and developmental support for your child.
We also offer mental health counseling and support for both parents and children, ensuring your family’s emotional well-being.

What documents do I need to enroll?
You’ll need identification, proof of residency, and information about your child’s health needs. Don’t worry—our team will guide you through the process.
How long does it take to get enrolled?
Once we receive your information, the enrollment process usually takes about one to two weeks.
What if I don’t qualify?
If you don’t qualify for CHIP’s services, we can help connect you to other resources and organizations that may be able to assist you.
